FILIPINA SARATAN SINGH May 16, 1951 - January 30, 2006 Peacefully, on Monday, January 30, 2006 surrounded by her loving family, our beloved wife, mother, and sister, Filipina Singh passed away at Health Sciences Center at the age of 54 years. She is survived by her large family who all felt incredibly loved by her. Filipina's husband, Baldev Singh was the love of her life, along with their children, Narindar, Zarina, and Baljinder. Filipina's mother, Fidela Saratan, and siblings, Ate Evangelina Tolentino, Ate Erlinda Saradpon, Kuya Marianito Saratan, and Epifanio Saratan Jr. Filipina's mother-in-law, Jasbir Kaur Brar, and in-laws, Surinderpal Kaur Dhaliwal, Karmjit Singh, Baldev Nat, and Baljit Grewal. Filipina was born in Zapote, Cavite, Philippines on May 16, 1951. At the age of 20 she immigrated to Canada. She then fell in love with a young Baldev Singh and got married on November 10, 1973. She worked at TruServ Canada for 30 years where she was an inventory clerk. Filipina was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend to all. Family was the utmost importance in her life. The birth of her children brought her so much joy and compassion that everybody enjoyed. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to all those involved in providing the excellent care, comfort, compassion and kindness to Filipina during her stay at HSC and Seven Oaks Hospital during the past 3 months. Lamays (viewing) will be held on Thursday, February 9 and 10 at 6:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home on 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, Manitoba. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 11 at 9:30 a.m. at the Filipino United Community Church on 1039 Pritchard Ave. The Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 11 at the Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
